Driving tours
The driving tours below offer a good introduction to the different regions within the alps and visitors are encouraged to explore each of these regions further - detailed maps and information on things to see and do can be obtained from the National Park and region visitor centres.
Valleys and escarpments in Victoria
Licola to Bright
This tour skirts around the Alpine National Park, and includes mountian forests, alpine scenery and rural landscapes. It links Heyfeild, Licola, Mansfield, Myrtleford and Bright and skirts the Wonnangatta-Moroka area, the largest management unit of the Alpine National Park, which covers 261 000 hectares.

The High Country
Around the Bogong and Dargo High Plains, Bright to Omeo (Victoria), including Mt Buffalo National Park, the Bogong area (of Alpine National Park), the Bogong High Plains, Mount Beauty, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek alpine resorts, and Grant historic area.

Pathways through the wilderness
Around the Snowy River, Omeo to Jindabyne (Victoria and New South Wales), including the Cobberas-Tingaringy area (of the Alpine National Park), Snowy River National Park, and the southern section of Kosciuszko National Park.
The Main Range
Around the Main Range and Kosciuszko, Jindabyne to Khancoban (New South Wales), including the central section of Kosciuszko National Park - ski resorts, the Main Range (including Mt Kosciuszko), and the Alpine Way.
Mountain communities
Round Kiandra, Khancoban to Adaminaby (New South Wales), including the northern section of Kosciuszko National Park - reservoirs (Eucumbene, Tantangara, Talbingo, Blowering), power stations, Tumut, Kiandra, Yarrangobilly and Caramurra.
Dreamtime to Space Age
Around Namadgi, Adaminaby to Tharwa (New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory), including Namadgi National Park, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, the Cotter River, and the Brindabella Range.
